The Lucy V. Williams Foundation Award was established in 2018 to honor the mission and memory of Lucy V. Williams. This humble servant-leader dedicated her life to God, her family and serving others. The Lucy V. Williams Foundation Awards Dinner celebrates that legacy by spotlighting deserving people and organizations that are also doing great work in the community. For one night, the LV Williams Foundation shines the spotlight on those who truly deserve it. We are grateful for their work in the community and honored to acknowledge and celebrate their dedication to helping others.
The Lucy V. Williams Foundation 2022 “My Brother’s Keeper” Award is presented to Ms. Celeste Miller. Celeste is the founder of the Unique Caring Foundation Incorporated, whose mission is to provide quality programs and services that will educate, assist and prepare individuals with specialized needs to live and compete in the 21st century. Annika, Celeste’s beautiful daughter, was the sweet inspiration for fostering differently-abled young people. Celeste started working with Annika to provide care after school and on weekends. Celeste and Annika faced many challenges together but with God’s help, lots of prayer and patience, they succeeded. I experience a lot of sleepless nights, sleeping in the hospital and all of the unexpected but when I look at the person she has become with all the strengths she possess. I would do it all over again. Celeste noted…. She is the start of my 20 year journey working with individuals that have special needs.
Celeste has dedicated her life to the community that she serves her sincere love and care for differently abled people is an inspiration. When asked the question, AM I MY Brother’s Keeper… Celeste has responded with her actions, for over 20 years…YES I AM!
